You don't have to be very observant to notice my lack of progress on this blog. Quite frankly, I am not great at keeping up with myself. I inevitably find some other fascination and leave WIPs behind.
I have a finishing problem.
I've had years to think on this problem--after all, I've got the great many unfinished projects to show for it. I have left behind me a legacy of hollowed-out blogs and online journals that, at their start, held a lot of promise!

Writing is hard work, don't get me wrong. But I've always struggled more with the efforts to get my writing read. Maybe that's why I've kept largely to fanfiction. There's already a built-in audience. Half the work is already done for me.
But finally, after a couple of years, I'm back here to make something. Again.
NaNoWriMo season is back, one of my favorite personal holidays! I'm immensely excited about my project this year, which is something I haven't been able to say in many years.
One of the best things about NaNoWriMo is that there is a finish line. I don't call it a deadline because, I mean, kind of, but not really. It's a marathon--your time isn't as important as the fact that you finished.
So here's to finishing. I'll be back here in a month or so. Let's talk then, blog.
